Understanding the Body's Language
"The body doesn't break down. It adapts — until the adaptation becomes the problem."

Most practitioners look at where it hurts. I look at what the body learned to do — and when that learning stopped serving you. Compensation patterns are not injuries. They're strategies your nervous system adopted, often brilliantly, often decades ago.

By forty, a man has accumulated twenty years of movement debt. Not from doing something wrong — from doing something repeatedly without precision. The knees that ache, the shoulder that catches, the lower back that never fully releases — these are invoices, not breakdowns.

OAHM doesn't guess. We measure. Bilateral weight distribution. Postural grid analysis. Range of motion mapping. Motor control sequencing. Every session begins with data and ends with a body that moves more efficiently than it did an hour ago.

ALLOSTASIS
A book about what happens when the body's story gets in the way of your life.
Yoby Étienne, MS, MATcs
Prologue: "The Invoice" +
Why men at 40 suddenly feel the debt their bodies accumulated. The things you didn't notice in your twenties — the imbalances, the compensations, the one-sided patterns — arrive all at once, like a bill you forgot you owed.
Chapter 1: "What Is Allostasis" +
The difference between stability and sameness. Your body doesn't seek balance — it seeks adaptation. Understanding allostasis means understanding why your body chose the patterns it did, and why those patterns may no longer serve you.
Chapter 2: "Your Body's Dictionary" +
How compensation patterns become vocabulary. Every movement your body performs is a sentence written in a language it taught itself. Some of that language is elegant. Some of it is a workaround that became permanent.
Chapter 3: "Reading the Text" +
What a biomechanical assessment actually reveals. This isn't a flexibility test. It's a diagnostic reading of your body's operating system — where force is managed well, and where it's being rerouted at a cost.
Chapter 4: "Rewriting" +
The precision work of pattern correction. Rewriting isn't about strength — it's about sequencing. Teaching the nervous system a new sentence, one that distributes force efficiently and without debt.
