The engine is the same one that created him in 2009: collective belief, distributed documentation, and the horror of not knowing what's real.

Slender Man wasn't created in 2009. He was documented in 2009. He predates the internet. The internet just gave him a name.

The Occurrence runs for nine weeks across four platforms. The theatrical release is the resolution. The audience that solves the ARG gets first-look tickets.
